The Community Chorus of Port Townsend and E. Jefferson County, Washington

is a non-profit, educational, artistic, and recreational organization established exclusively to benefit the general public, for which it provides music and from which its membership is composed. We are committed to rehearsing and performing choral repertory at the highest level of choral artistry achievable by the members.

The chorus has two seasons a year, normally culminating in two concerts per season. Winter or holiday concerts are generally in early December and the spring concerts are generally in April or May. We are often accompanied by orchestras of talented local musicians. We encourage participation by experienced and novice singers 16 years and older. Part of our mission is to provide a forum for those who are returning to choral music.

A message from our president

Dear patrons of Community Chorus of Port Townsend & East Jefferson County,
We are well on our way to staging a Fall Concert in 2022!

word art We have so missed singing together and performing for friends and the community, and are optimistic that 2022 will allow us to safely bring you a fall concert with inspiring, uplifting, and positive music to present to you!

It was fun to get together over the last two years, socially distanced, to participate in warm-up and voice strengthening exercises, to sing parts on some favorite tunes. For a change of pace, director Jonathan Stafford led us on guitar in some Beatles tunes and Pete Seeger folk songs. Sarah Moran also led in Christmas Carolling last year. Weather permitting; this summer we are again offering opportunities for chorus members to sing outdoors with directors Sarah Moran and Jonathan Stafford.

As always, we appreciate your generous contributions in support of the chorus and our next performance.

Thank you and be well.

Linda Atkins, president of the Community Chorus board of directors
